CHARACTER NAME: Set
CHARACTER AGE: Immortal. Appears to be in his 30s.
CANON: Mojito's Ennead, link their Wiki page or type a paragraph for OCs.
CANON POINT: Season 2, Chapter 72. Having confirmed his duty to the tormented souls of Egypt, Set prepares to show the caravan made of his "loyalists" outside of the Temple of Isis whom their god really is — by accepting that it is his role to be forgotten, and to destroy those who would worship a cruel, monstrous god.
CRAU INFO: Set's consciousness will be arriving as a transplant from his previous game, Kenos. This makes his motivations a little different than if he were arriving straight from his canon. The TL;DR of Kenos is that all worlds have already been equivocably and undeniably destroyed, devoured by a force called Oblivion. Two factions, Meridian and Zenith, are fighting over the power of a resource known as Oracles to do one of two things: bring back the worlds that were destroyed ( Meridian ) or create a new world ( Zenith ). As the characters deepened their role with the energy of each faction, they would become more brainwashed and turned against the other — Set was a member of Meridian, and a high ranking one.
His greatest motivation was the safety of his son, Anubis. That meant siding with Meridian to focus on their victory, and also ensuring that if a Zenith win came to be, that the leader of Zenith was eliminated. Having reached socio-political heights by becoming a prominent figurehead, he enjoyed a role in crafting wartime policies and engaging in overt acts of violence against the opposition. At the time of game-closure, he was thoroughly brainwashed and his consciousness now arrives within Synflux freed of that influence!
SUITABILITY:
A god is ultimately beholden to humanity, like it or not. The rebellious god of war, former tyrant whom led Egypt into anguish and depravity is no exception, especially as he has been sentenced with atonement. LILITH would be hard-pressed to find a more dutiful man, whom takes mission-based work and bigger-picture goals seriously. Set is a tactical nightmare, whom gathers information to ensure his decisions and movements are the best that they, and everyone around him, can be. What he brings to LILITH's goal is strength of arm, even diminished, but also a strategic brilliance that could be used to organize and enhance personnel and mission tactics.
More than that, Set is a powerful warrior whom has no issue getting involved in the physical fight against a kaiju or two! In fact, he used to hunt fantastical beasts, ancient megafauna and dinosaurs that predated humanity. For fun! As he grew older, he was assigned the role of god of war by his brother, Osiris, and patrolled/protected the borders of Egypt from foreign invasion and internal strife, often alone against large armies or groups. Canonically, he says he's never lost a battle — at least the ones that truly matter!
In terms of personality, Set is a highly self-motivated individual. He is capable of working with an organized goal if he sees what he, personally, gets out of it — and one can always bring him to heel by making that out to be about the safety and security of his son, Anubis. In his prior canon, he was part of a factional war to determine the future of the known universe ( which was entirely destroyed ), so juggling that character development — focused on being the evil against which others shone, and murderous subterfuge to destabilize the rival faction — makes him suitable in that he has been actively working for the betterment of the world for a longer time than if he'd been taken right from canon!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
+++: Dutiful, independent, strategic, cunning.
---: Rebellious, savage, impassioned, fearful.
PERSONALITY REFERENCE: Wiki
POWERS & SKILLS: oh no,,
DIVINE BIOLOGY:
— Stronger, faster, more agile and more durable than a human or demigod.
— Sense of smell, hearing and vision are acute, like an animal. Has keen low-light and dark vision.
— Exceptionally limited need for sustenance, sleep and oxygen (e.g. a full god can be very hungry, but will never die of starvation).
— Immortality.
— More followers worshiping him = more power.
DESERT & WAR DOMINION: Set has authority over the desert and uses the sands as an extension of himself — from which he can conjure, alter and manipulate at both his leisure, and to the limits of his imagination. Sheer adaptability is the key element of this domain.
— Calling sand to himself, allowing him to move giant swaths of desert at his pleasure and multiply his base of power.
— Materializing weaponry, creatures/animals real, extinct and fantastical, and recognizable objects ( e.g. boats, pillars, chariots ). Naturally, he has to fully understand the workings of any complex object, vehicle or structure to make it.
— Creating sand-based clones of himself that are capable of effectively using a variety of weaponry.
— Summoning and controlling storms, including tornadoes and sandstorms.
— Dissolving himself into sand to travel, mitigate or avoid damage/pain, and manifest himself as a giant sand-version to use as a siege weapon.'
OTHER DOMAINS: Violence, chaos, foreigners and foreign lands, storms, chaos and disorder/confusion. See nerfs.
INTELLIGENCE:
— Millennias worth of knowledge of domestic and foreign warfare, weapons and technology.
— Exceptional versatility and natural speed of thought; his impartial intellectualism makes him extremely intellectually flexible and creative.
— Known to outmaneuver and outsmart his fellow gods.
— No tactic is too reprehensible, including emotional blackmail, underhanded lies, sheer brutality and psychological warfare if it means victory.
OTHER POWERS:
— He can communicate with the dead, playing the role of psychopomp toward the souls of women who were tortured to death.
— Can speak the language of the gods and animals, such as to crocodiles.
— Shapeshifting ( environmental, and animals/animal traits ). His kitty claw power!!
— ALWAYS SMELLS GOOD?? I guess he smells like sand or petrichor, but also seems to possess a scent that resonates with whomever is sniffing him.
— Divine Syncretism, or "the Highlander Principle". He has an omnipresent sense of self, where he's just The Only Set That Ever Existed. It's not a critical skill, just a fun opt-in/opt-out narrative for enhanced CR/AU purposes.
NERFED POWERS: Rather than arriving as a full-powered god, Set has already been demoted to the status of a demi-god; in canon, this means that his access to his divine powers ( listed above ) have already been nerfed to the following degree:
DIVINE BIOLOGY:
—Stronger, faster, more agile and more durable than a human or demigod. He remains strong enough to throw a fully-grown man several yards, shatter solid-wood shields with a kick, fight a small army of 20+ on his own, and is more agile, swift and durable than a mortal.
— Sense of smell, hearing and vision are acute, like an animal. Has keen low-light and dark vision.
— Limited need for sustenance, sleep and oxygen (e.g. a full god can be very hungry, but will never die of starvation). He can now become ill, injured and while his wounds heal within a few days, he still must take proper care and consideration to accomplish this.
—Immortality.Completely gone, per game rules.
—More followers worshiping him = more power. He's no longer allowed to have followers, per his jail sentence!
DESERT DOMINION:
— ALL of these abilities are only accessible when he is actively committing acts of atonement (eg. helping the tormented souls he carries with him find peace, vengeance and rest ). They require he keep his curse, which manifests as a mark that resembles a bracelet in order to meet the criteria.
OTHER DOMAINS: Removed!!!!!!!! NERFED!!!! GONE!!!!!
PERSONAL ITEM: A set of canopic jars, containing the viscera of his son — Anubis. :) They do nothing except make him sad and insanely overprotective of them.
