Set
Ennead CANON Immortal, appears 30+ AGE Meridian FACTION 3 HARMONIZATION LEVEL
Season 2, Chapter 72 CANON POINT Male (he/him) GENDER Savant ASPECT Low DISCORD LEVEL
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The noncompliant, red-haired god of the desert is as disorderly and wrathful as myth suggests. To the naked eye, Set appears as a man in his early thirties, with brilliant red hair and eyes. Contrasting his Levantine origins, he is pale of skin and without blemish, scar or discernable marking; observing him for too long without pause evokes the image of boundless sands, a vaguely eldritch quality to his physical perfection and beauty that is readily tarnished by his unsavory, brash attitude and sharp tongue. He stands approximately 6'0"/184cm, leanly muscled and athletic in tone. Commonly, he wears a black shendyt, as well as gold jewelry. The red-and-black kohl around his eyes is applied by hand, rather than existing by the grace of his godhood, but the fullness of his mouth is au naturel.

SHARD
Evoking the image of raw meat, Set's shard takes the form of a jagged-edged red jasper fissure, as though he has been flayed open. Measuring approximately 4"/~10.16cm, it is embedded over his heart, where his gold jewelry and long hair form a barrier that keep it largely hidden.

ASPECT TATTOO
Affiliated with the aspect of Savant, Set's tattoo is a black gear with spokes that sit between each knuckle of his right hand. It parallels the cursed mark on his left hand.

PERSONALITY
A violent tsundere with a highly independent streak and a lot of self-hatred.

BACKGROUND
CW SEXUAL ASSAULT, MASS MURDER ( EXPAND )The god of war exists to deliver Egypt from all threat, serving at the side of the supreme god as executor of his divine will. In mythology, Set exists as a complex and paradoxical figure: a protector and an usurper, the greatest evil known and the eternal protector of the sun itself, a god of peripheral existence and the integral piece of Egypt's politico-religious style of rulership. Set is the "red-headed stepchild" of the Ennead, used and manipulated for the betterment of mankind while seeking independence and acknowledgement for himself; yet, he is also a fully-fledged trickster, a warlord and monster who betrayed the order of all things and slew his brother to take the throne of Egypt for himself and ruled shoddily, violently, as Egypt fell into a period of decay.

Mojito's Ennead is an adaptation of Egyptian mythology, dealing largely with the betrayal and death of Osiris, the usurpation of the throne by Set and the contendings of Horus, the son of Osiris who returned to defeat the evil god and restore order to Egypt. In the adaptation, Set ( and many others ) serve as unreliable narrators, gods with personal stakes in the progression of history, whom share an intimate and direct relationship with the mortals of their lands. The series opens on Set already having murdered Osiris and taken the throne, leading to countless years of suffering, slaughter and depravity across the lands of Egypt. He largely seems unimpressed with ruling, preferring to drink, drug himself and revel in the mass-murder of women and children, until his sister, Isis, returns to Heliopolis with Horus, hers and Osiris's son, in tow to demand the throne be returned to the rightful rulers.

The two are locked into a trial by three, chosen by the order of the world itself and observed by Ma'at, daughter of Ra. If either Set, or Horus, were to win two of the three challenges, the throne would be proven to belong to them, and the other would be considered the illegal contender. As Horus and Set battle through wit and might, the story begins to allude to the reasons behind Set's sudden, violent assault on the throne and why, if he had loved his brother so much, he had carved Osiris into pieces and thrown him into the Nile. The truth of the matter, was that Osiris had always coveted Set for himself, and his yearning for the other god had transcended sanity, with Osiris concocting a plan over literal millennia to break Set's will and obtain him wholly. Using the soul of Set's son, Anubis, as a hostage and "prize" to be won by obedience, Osiris forced Set to submit and assaulted him him, betraying the bond the four children of Geb and Nut had shared.

In retaliation, Set killed the god of life himself, and cast his brother into Duat -- trapping him there, to become the god of the dead. In his madness and despair, he withdrew into himself and elected to become a despot, so as to never be hurt again by anyone -- leading to his taking the throne and indulging in slaughter and hedonism. With Horus claiming victory over him in the end, Set is taken before the Ennead to be judged for his crimes. Not wanting the truth of his assault and thus, his emasculation, to be heard by anyone ( let along his wife and child ), Set demands death -- only to be supported by Horus, who vows that Set will never have to face such a trial. Instead, Set agrees to be punished eternally; he is to serve as psychopomp to the souls of the humans, largely women and children, that he cruelly treated and denied their proper place in Duat, and once he alleviates that pain, he will return to Heliopolis and be given to Ra, to serve aboard her barque for all eternity.

Banished from Heliopolis and stripped of his full divinity, Set-the-demigod travels Egypt alone to perform his penance. Along the way, meeting a sly foreigner who becomes his attendant, while also dealing with the repeated visitations by Horus -- and the presence of a newly-risen god of death: his amnesiac son, Anubis.

ABILITIES & SKILLS
DIVINE ABILITIES Set is a god, albeit one undergoing punishment, and thus divided from his divinity. As punishment for his crimes against Egypt, he has all record of his good deeds removed from the annals of Egyptian history and is condemned to be known as an evil god - and this is a mirror of the development of Set-related myths in actual Egyptian history! His temples, offerings, and his divine status are taken from him, leaving him a demigod - still of distinct power compared to a mortal, but vastly diminished compared to his prior status as a key member of the Ennead.

He cannot command the desert, feels pain and bleeds, his stamina is lessened to the degree of a human and even his immunity against illness seems compromised, requiring to rest and recover. In the series, as he begins to atone he temporarily regains access to some of his abilities, while in Kenos, his service to the land and people have granted him a connection to his abilities via Meridian. Over time, his actions toward Kenos and Shard-bearers alike will bring him greater access to his abilities, and allow him to share them among Shard-bearers and peoples alike.

Divine Domain(s): As one of the preeminent gods of Egypt, Set has accumulated a number of domains that he oversees, embodies and wields. Those who partake in activities pertaining to any of his domains tend to interest him and encourage him to lend them his support as an individual who is called upon by others to grant them power and guidance. It's kind of like D&D 5E's domains, which grant characters advantages or the ability to turn debuffs on their enemies but are largely social elements with restricted combat-related uses. His use of them will never transcend the POWER CAP without express permission from other players.

  • Divine Domain: Desert - A form of geokinesis, with a definitive focus on sand, not earth. Set controls the desert and the sands as an extension of himself — in Kenos, he has immediate access to sand equal to the weight of his body's mass, from which he can conjure, alter and manipulate it at his leisure and to the limits of his imagination. Adaptability and evasiveness are key elements of his skillset in this domain, and if he accesses an existing location that possesses sand ( or a desert itself ), what he can do would increase.

He has proven able to materialize weaponry, creatures and recognizable objects -- e.g. boats, pillars, and chariots -- dissolve his own physical form into sand to mitigate damage and eliminate pain, and manifest the sands as a massive form of himself, which he uses as a siege weapon against his enemies. The caveat is that has to fully understand the workings of any complex object, vehicle or structure to make it. One other ability he has, presumably taught to him by Osiris, is the ability to conjure clones of himself out of sand, using the ka (soul) of the dead to maintain their shape -- a manner of necromancy.

  • Divine Domain: War & Violence - Known as the mightiest of the Ennead, with no god able to compete or defy him on their own, Set feeds upon the energy produced by warring factions, taking it upon himself to stand as dedicant of all battles and strife. His blessing in the domain of war can give others a boost in strength, speed or durability, and socially: his vast knowledge of tactics and battle psychology mean he is a clever ally to call upon when in need of information. The very image of Set was thought to be capable of damaging people and property, so statues and portraits of Set were often the objects of damnatio memoriae.

  • Divine Domain: Foreigners / Foreign Lands - Set served as protector of soldiers, hunters, merchants, and in general any person who spent a considerable amount of time away from home. In later mythology, he was also attributed to the influence and invasion of foreigners as he became viewed as more of a chaotic, evil deity.

  • Divine Domain: Storms - Often associated with sandstorms, thunderstorms and flash bloods, it's safe to say he would possess the ability to create and wield all three of these things through this domain.

  • Domain: Chaos - As a trickster god, Set opposes the Egyptian concept of maat, or divine order. He deceives people for the pleasure of doing so, and not because he has bad intentions. As Egyptians values ma’at, or divine order, more than anything, it may seem like an unlikely god to worship; Ma’at only thrived when it was challenged — and this was Seth’s main role.

Sub- Domain: Disorder/Confusion - He is also meant to sow discord and confusion among the enemies of Egypt by challenging their resolve and disorienting their thoughts, thus ensuring the Egyptian army’s success in battle.

  • Divine Syncretism - Not as important, but Set also is attributed to two other individuals from other pantheons: Typhon, the father of monsters and Baal-Beelzebub, a demon prince. As the gods of Egypt were known to be fluid and all-encompassing in nature, these two roles are easily accepted as compounds of Set's existence.

Demi/god Abilities - Even stripped of his divinity, he's still stronger than a human, resilient and swift. He is shown to have the at-will ability to elongate his nails into animal-like claws and is possessed of elongated canine teeth. He uses these claws as an additional weapon in hand-to-hand-combat and they are one of his own remaining offenses/defenses, besides his extensive intellect and knowledge.

INTELLIGENCE Set's greatest asset is not, in fact, his formidible strength. In fact, he personally cites his intellect as the reason he has been endlessly victorious in every battle he has ever won. A known traveler and consort to other, foreign gods, Set has created, acquired, mastered and learned from a vast variety of individuals, pantheons and cultures. The things he knows related strongly to combat and warfare, but his versatility in thought and impartial intellectualism have rendered him very lethal in his mental flexibility. Once known as Egypt's protector, Set was the guardian of the land against invaders, and would likely have knowledge of battle tactics - both Egyptian and foreign.

No matter how diminished he is in physical and godly power, Set is possessed of countless years of knowledge and a vast appetite for learning more. Viciously clever, he has been shown to be able to outmaneuver and outsmart nearly all of his fellow gods - relying on emotional blackmail, underhanded tricks, sheer brutality and other tactical knowledge to come out on top.

INHUMANITY Set is poignantly nonhuman, and thus does not require what the average, mortal individual would need to survive. As a god, his body will never starve — even without food/drink, and his body has less of a demand for oxygen and sleep, without which he would not tire. In Kenos, he continues to meet these needs from time to time, for social reasons or personal pleasures. Also, he's a vegetarian!

SHAPESHIFTING The Egyptian gods are as much human in shape as they are animal or environmental/force of nature, and Set is no exception. In his full divinity, he has been shown to be able to shapeshift into the desert itself, transforming his form into the vast sands and manipulating that form to grow in size, generate weapons and armaments, vehicles and generally cause vast destruction around him. He has also been known in myth to take multiple animal forms, including an ox, an oryx, a hippopotamus, a bull, a crocodile, a panther and the mysterious "Set" animal (sha) associated with his name.

SUPER-HUMAN ABILITIES As expected, Set is stronger, faster and has sharper senses than the average human. He has been shown to be able to rend divine flesh with his claws, crush solid shields with a kick, throw fully grown men with a single arm and ward off a small army of 20+ single-handedly. Because of his nature, his sense of smell and hearing are also more acute — akin more to an animal than a human, and his low-light/dark vision is keen. He is notably reduced in these abilities for game canon, and has the added deficit of needing to keep an eye on his stamina. He tires as readily as a human, and pushing himself too hard will drain his energy.

Also, he always smells good?? What he smells like is typically sand, but also seems to resonate with whomever is sniffing him.

BLESSINGS & CURSES Divine Blessings: AS OF JUNE 2023, Set has "unlocked" his ability to divinely bless his followers! Blessings may be treated as pacts with the blessed, in the future, for service and power. Not too unlike striking a deal with a demon, nudge nudge. Not the same as Domain Blessing (Enhance Ability), the T2 spell!

Curses: Set currently bears a curse. Taking the form of a dark, miasma-leaking mark upon his left hand, the curse primarily forces him to relive the misery, pain, hatred and deaths of his victims, the souls contained within the curse. The curse is largely kept from utterly destroying him by Nephthys's blessing of harmony, which allows him to utilize the curse as a way to feel empathy with the dead, allowing him to experience their thoughts, memories and emotions. It's agonizing to use, and will increase his Discord by A HALF LEVEL immediately upon use — endangering him if he uses it too often.

When accepting of the curse, Set has been shown to reconnect with his divinity, granting him access to his full godhood at the time when his empathy is greatest. Additionally, bestowing a curse upon a player character is currently an OPT-IN MECHANIC ONLY. Please see my permission's post!

T1 HARMONIZATION ABILITIES Communion. Set is able to connect his mind to other Shard-Bearers in order to share thoughts, images, memories and emotions with them. This ability is strongest with others of the Savant aspect.

Teleportation. As a Shard-Bearer, Set is able to transmit his physical body between established Cornerstones upon any island.

Purification. Able to arrest and purge the spread of Discord within another Shard-Bearer, Set is notably drawn to individuals of the Exalt & Iconoclast aspects and would exacerbate the Discord in individuals who are a part of the Advocate aspect.

Spells. He uses Mold Earth, Featherfall & Illusory Script, as well as Druidcraft.
Featherfall. Choose up to five falling creatures within 60 feet/18 meters. A falling creature's rate of descent slows to a safe level, indeed falling like a feather until they touch the ground.

Illusory Script. You write on parchment, paper, or some other suitable writing material and imbue it with a potent illusion that lasts for ten days.

To you and any creatures you designate when you cast the spell, the writing appears normal, written in your hand, and conveys whatever meaning you intended when you wrote the text. To all others, the writing appears as if it were written in an unknown or magical script that is unintelligible.

Alternatively, you can cause the writing to appear to be an entirely different message, written in a different hand and language, though the language must be one you know. Should the spell be dispelled, the original script and the illusion both disappear. A creature with True Sight can read the hidden message.

Mold Earth. You choose a portion of dirt or stone that you can see and that fits within a 5-foot/1.5 meter cube. You manipulate it in one of the following ways:
  • If you target an area of loose earth, you can instantaneously excavate it, move it along the ground, and deposit it up to 5 feet/1.5 meter away. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
  • You cause shapes, colors, or both to appear on the dirt or stone, spelling out words, creating images, or shaping patterns. The changes last for 1 hour.
  • If the dirt or stone you target is on the ground, you cause it to change consistency, such as turning to quicksand, smoothing out, or becoming mud. This change lasts for 1 hour.
  • If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have no more than two of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time.

Druidcraft. Whispering to the spirits of nature, you create one of the following effects within 30 feet/9 meters:
  • You create a tiny, harmless sensory effect that predicts what the weather will be at your location for the next 24 hours. The effect might manifest as a golden orb for clear skies, a cloud for rain, falling snowflakes for snow, and so on.
  • You instantly make a flower blossom, a seed pod open, or a leaf bud bloom.
  • You create an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect, such as falling leaves, a puff of wind, the sound of a small animal, or the faint odor of skunk. The effect must fit in a 5-foot/1.5 meter cube.
  • You instantly light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire.
T2 HARMONIZATION ABILITIES Cornerstone Creation. By placing your hands on a stone or crystal that's at least a meter tall or wide, you can push your energy into the stone and have it activate as a Cornerstone for teleportation. This process takes five minutes of concentration. Cornerstones cannot be "purified", but they can be destroyed in whatever way would destroy a rock.
Currently maintained Cornerstone(s):
  • Near to his shrine in the Beyond; actively known.
  • In his booth in the Seven Black Oaths, located in the Last Dance; known by Liem, Yuri, Ryouma.
  • In the temple in the north of the Beyond, made from the statue of Isis; known by Liem Talbott.
Currently known Cornerstones (created by another, accessible to him):
  • Silco's cornerstone in Draumahol, providing access to Kowloon.
Corruption. By acting as a conduit, you can force a substantial amount of your faction’s energy into another and increase their Discord by up to a full level. This requires skin-to-skin contact and can only be done once per day easily. Doing so twice in one day can be done, but will immediately render the user unconscious.

Spells. At T2, Set now has access to the following spells.
Clairvoyance. You create an invisible sensor within one mile/1.6 kilometer in a location familiar to you (a place you have visited or seen before) or in an obvious location that is unfamiliar to you (such as behind a door, around a corner, or in a grove of trees). The sensor remains in place for the duration, and it can't be attacked or otherwise interacted with. When you cast the spell, you choose seeing or hearing. You can use the chosen sense through the sensor as if you were in its space. You can switch between seeing and hearing at will. A creature with True Sight sees a luminous, intangible orb about the size of your fist.

Plant Growth. This spell channels vitality into plants within a specific area. There are two possible uses for the spell, granting either immediate or long-term benefits. If you cast this spell quickly, choose a point nearby. All normal plants in a 100-foot/20.5 meter radius centered on that point become thick and overgrown.

You can exclude one or more areas of any size within the spell's area from being affected. If you cast this spell over 8 hours, you enrich the land. All plants in a half-mile/1 kilometer radius centered on a point within range become enriched for 1 year. The plants yield twice the normal amount of food when harvested.

Speak With Plants. You imbue plants within 30 feet/9 meters of you with limited sentience and animation, giving them the ability to communicate with you and follow your simple commands. You can question plants about events in the spell's area within the past day, gaining information about creatures that have passed, weather, and other circumstances.

Plants might be able to perform other tasks on your behalf if you’re nice to them. The spell doesn't enable plants to uproot themselves and move about, but they can freely move branches, tendrils, and stalks.

Enhance Ability (Domain Blessing). You possess the ability to bolster the will of others. Your assistance deepens a creature's understanding of its own talent by temporarily tying it to yours. You touch one willing creature and give it expertise in one skill area of your choice out of the following six; until the spell ends upon use, the creature shares in your expertise and knowledge as if it were their own. At T2, only one other creature can have this ability, with a +1 for every additional level, up to a maximum number of 3.

Set's spell is flavored uniquely for him, but functions the same way as listed in the T2 Spellbook ( it will be, once our mods can update it )! His proficiencies and specialties for paired use are listed as follows:
  • War (Strength) ▮▮▮▮▯ 4/5 -- Known as the mightiest of the Ennead, for good reason.
  • Desert (Dexterity) ▮▮▮▮▯ 4/5 -- Nimble of leg more than fine motor control; a good dancer, elegant fighter when not subduing rivals by brute force.
  • Storms (Constitution) ▮▮▮▯▯ 3/5 -- His resistance is actually pretty low, surprisingly.
  • Syncretic Nature (Intelligence) ▮▮▮▮▮ 5/5 -- His best and most lethal trait.
  • Chaos (Wisdom) ▮▯▯▯▯ 1/5 -- He is as much a part of the natural world as could reasonably exist, but he is easily led.
  • Foreigners/Foreign Lands (Charisma) ▮▮▮▯▯ 3/5 -- Bad attitude, impatient and impulsive, but has some endearing qualities.
Major Image. You create the image of an object, a creature, or some other visible phenomenon that is no larger than a 20-foot/6-meter cube. The image appears at a spot that you can see within range and lasts for the duration. It seems completely real, including sounds, smells, and temperature appropriate to the thing depicted.

As long as you are within sight of the illusion, you can use your action to cause the image to move to any other spot within range. As the image changes location, you can alter its appearance so that its movements appear natural for the image. For example, if you create an image of a creature and move it, you can alter the image so that it appears to be walking. Similarly, you can cause the illusion to make different sounds at different times, even making it carry on a conversation, for example.

Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it.
T3 HARMONIZATION ABILITIES True Sight. By choosing to look, you can now see the truth of others’ souls. By activating this ability and seeing even a small part of someone’s Shard, your character can perceive any character with a Shard’s faction alignment and their level of Harmonization. Their alignment is expressed as light for the Meridian and as darkness for the Zenith, and their level of Harmonization is expressed by the intensity of each. The effect emanates from their Shard.

Spells. At T3, Set now has access to the following spells.
Awaken. After spending 8 hours total infusing a precious gemstone with Meridian, you are able to use this gemstone once for this spell. You touch the gemstone to a plant or animal, and the target becomes intelligent and also gains the ability to speak one language you know. If the target is a plant, it gains the ability to move its limbs, roots, vines, creepers, and so forth, and it gains senses similar to a human's.

The awakened beast or plant is charmed by you for 30 days or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it. When the charmed condition ends, the awakened creature chooses whether to remain friendly to you, based on how you treated it while it was charmed.

Geas. You place a single magical command on a creature that you can see within 60 feet, forcing it to carry out some service or refrain from some action or course of activity as you decide for 30 days. A creature that can't understand you is unaffected by the spell.

You can issue any command you choose, short of an activity that would result in certain death. Should you issue a suicidal command, the spell ends. The target is aware of the spell’s influence, but is unable to tell others about it. The target can attempt to act in a manner counter to your instructions, but will take significant psychic damage to do so. While this spell is active on one creature, you cannot cast it again without dismissing the current spell. This spell is considered a curse (of your faction’s alignment) and methods to remove curses will also end the spell early. The spell cannot influence the same individual twice.

This spell should be discussed between both players and cannot influence named NPCs such as Cyrus and Yima.
TOKEN ABILITIES Divine Blessing. Beginning in February 2023, after speaking with Cyrus about regaining his divinity, Set has worked for months to ingrain himself in the minds of Shard-bearers and Kenosians alike. With formal agreements struck between himself, Hayame and Dimitri, Set has received their direct dedications of violence ( x, x, x ), and may have earned the beginnings of personal faith(?) from a few others.

To that end, he may finally regain via purchase his ability to divinely bless a Shard-bearer and empower them. While his blessings are for anyone who forms a direct agreement with him, he will primarily choose to withhold them and disperse them among Shard-bearers who exist on the same "side" as him ( — Meridian, as of June 2023 ), for now. All blessings exist as the means to facilitate further CR, choices and fun between players, NOT to overpower or tip the balance of any competition or combat. Subsequent evolution/addition of the others requires active involvement in game plot, player plot and CR, naturally.

As it is a social power and customized, it requires opting in and proof of purchase ( the agreement ) in a thread. Once the deal is sealed, Set has some ability to guide/intervene on behalf of that individual. Players can pick ONE form that the blessing takes, based on their matching character arc, motivation and/or relationship with Set. The blessing cannot be arbitrarily swapped out. This leaves room for development and changes, but controls the versatility of the ability to ensure it remains at the level of a Minor Power. They'll have to be tailored to suit his domains/parameters, so he cannot provide any services like healing, resurrection, diplomacy, or the like. I would also say he could not be asked to spy/scry, scout ahead in a situation or infiltrate a location, as his blessing is linked to the immediacy of someone's need and physical presence.

Some examples for variety of use, but not limitations, include:
  • Being able to influence a Shard-bearer who calls upon their blessing to invigorate their own emotions or reject external pressures, especially when they are fighting for what they believe in, convicted towards, or just SET IN THEIR WAYS.
  • A Shard-bearer cornered and alone could call upon their blessing and receive the aid of a single clone of himself/an animal affiliated with himself made of sand, at the level of a minor power, to fight at their side. Alternatively, to aid them in exploration.
  • Bestow upon a Shard-bearer a weapon he is familiar with/affiliated with, in time of need; this could include the khopesh, bow + arrow, and other martial weapons.
  • Protect a Shard-bearer in a pinch by enveloping their form in defensive sand.
  • Allow a Shard-bearer access to a spell he knows, derived from Harmonization and only up to the level of their Harmonization. A Zenith player could still not use a Meridian-locked spell, and vice versa; a T1 Harmonized could not use one of his T2 spells.
  • Enhance a Shard-bearer's aura to menace, mock, infuriate, obfuscate or disorient another Shard-bearer or NPC.
  • A Shard-bearer could rely on their Blessing to function as a sentry or vigilant sentinel to warn them of encroaching danger, or attack.
  • Upon falling in battle or to danger, he could snag a Bearer's Shard away from a situation where they could not be reached otherwise or would be immediately under danger of Shattering in.
Future blessings will require a formal agreement and token purchase ( 2 Tokens from me! ) to faciliate their creation and bestowal. The blessing can be called upon once during a week, takes the immediate form of the Shardbearer's need, and will increase Set's own Discord in an arbitrarily small capacity upon being used — in case everyone does it at the same time. The game Powercap remains the ruling, at all times. The great fun about this, is when he begins to offer his blessing across Faction lines, he's truly war and discord freewheeling lmao
UNIQUE POWER GAINS Meridian's Blessing. Due to his service in the name of Meridian ( hosting the Mnemosyno Sending ), Set received Meridian's Blessing — Set will not accrue Discord as easily! A notable exception to this is the Discord that he accrues when spending time in Highstorm (which he'll accrue at the normal rate).

T2+ Title in Springstar. Archon Strategos, granted to him by the Church of Helios upon the second victory of the Meridian Faction. It’s a title granted for excellence in service to the governance of Springstar and its people, and is born by the individual tasked with the Church's strategies.

OUT OF CHARACTER
Writing Style: I lean towards using [ brackets ] over all else, but have experience in paragraph roleplay.

Backtagging: I live off of backtagging. As long as the thread is moving along, I'll backtag into oblivion.

Threadhopping: I don't mind, unless the thread is obviously a private affair. When in doubt, ask me!

Offensive Subjects: I'm not keen on gratuitous animal torture, but it is a soft limit when for narrative purpose. I also ask that, although this is a faction game that has a competitive lean, Set's sexual abuse is NOT used for the purpose of 'getting ahead' or as propaganda/a social maneuver against him. It is for CR purposes only! <3

IN CHARACTER
Physical Violence: Anything and everything. As god of war and former tyrant of Egypt, Set’s history with violence is varied and far-reaching. While known as the most powerful deity in the Ennead, Set has been essentially demoted to the rank of a demigod - he's stronger and more durable than the average human, but I have no issue with having him kick ass OR having his ass kicked. I actually enjoy using him to give the "hurt" half of the "hurt/comfort" everyone's known to love.

Death/Dissipation: Yes! Massacre and martyr him. He's hard to kill, but it is satisfying when u get his ass.

Physical Affection: Yes! Please note that for #reasons, Set is revolted by unexpected/unwanted physical contact, and rather mistrustful of given affection; he may prove dismissive of attempts, to varying degrees. Repeated attempts may be met with hostility, if he feels his boundaries are being disrespected. He prefers to be the one "on the attack", and has a very toxic and detrimental view of masculinity and manhood at this time in his development.

Shipping/Sex: Romancing him is highly difficult, because of his high degree of independence from attachments and the effects of sexual abuse on his psyche. He is known for being a god of “indiscriminate sexuality”, and throughout Egyptian myth has been noted to have relationships with men and women alike. Likely he'll be a teaser, rather than a pleasure, and his appetites are impartial to infighting among others. We love a bisexual deity! Wh*re gods, unite!

Mental/Communion: Acceptable! Please reach out to me for unique challenges and consequences if you're digging through. His mind straddles the boundary between "knowable by mortal standards", in the sense that he has emotions and similarities to most people, but also has an extended consciousness/elevated sense of self/eldritch aspect to his mind that can prove painful for some to look upon.

Offensive Subjects: Betrayal, mostly.
